RFSU DRIVER HANDBOOK - CLOSED BETA
Welcome to Race For Speed : United (RFSU) - a community Soapbox Race World server built so Need for Speed World still feels alive. This page is your closed-beta driver handbook: how to install, race, chase, stock powerups, spend Cash and SpeedBoost, claim challenges on the site, and stay welcome in Rockport & Palmont.
Every section below is written for RFSU specifically. Accordion heads stay short; the bodies teach real steps, mistakes to avoid, and server rules that differ from old retail NFSW. Live services talk to api.raceforspeedunited.fr. There is no pay-to-win shop - progression comes from races, pursuits, events, codes, and the community.
Same account everywhere: the email, password, and persona you use in the launcher also unlock Profile, Challenges, and Redeem Web Deals on this site. Check News for economy tweaks, Treasure Hunt schedules (often Paris time), and beta rebalances. Optional flavor: keep an eye out for Bolt the raccoon in community art - he is mascot only, not a gameplay requirement.
Open a section, follow the How-to lists, and get rolling. Branding is RFSU. Not affiliated with Electronic Arts.
WHAT IT IS
Getting started on RFSU means installing the community launcher pack, creating one account that works for both the game and this website, naming a persona, picking a first car, and rolling into free roam on the Race For Speed : United Soapbox Race World server. You are not buying a premium ladder - RFSU is fair-economy and closed-beta friendly.
Your first session should end with you online in free roam, knowing how to open the map / event list, and knowing that Profile / Challenges / Redeem use the same email + password + persona as the launcher.
HOW TO DO IT ON RFSU
- Download the SBRW Launcher from soapboxrace.world, then connect to RFSU (server). Prefer the build staff currently recommend in News / Discord announcements.
- Install Need for Speed World through the SBRW Launcher. Do not mix random third-party game folders — keep a clean client layout so paths and endpoints stay consistent.
- Point the client at RFSU. Server name: Race For Speed : United. API / live services: api.raceforspeedunited.fr. If the launcher offers a server picker, choose RFSU explicitly - a wrong endpoint feels like "the game is broken."
- Create your account with an email you control. Write the password down somewhere safe. This exact login unlocks the website Profile, Challenges, and Redeem pages.
- Create a persona (driver name) in-game. Personas are your public identity on Rockport / Palmont and must match what you select when redeeming codes or claiming challenges.
- Finish the short intro flow, pick a starter car, and enter free roam. New RFSU drivers start with usable Cash plus starter powerup stock (see Powerups: Traffic Magnet and Shield, 15 each).
- Smoke-test the website: open Profile, sign in with the same credentials, confirm your persona and balances appear. Then glance at Challenges and Redeem Web Deals so you know the paths later.
- Queue a gentle first event - a short Sprint or Circuit from free roam - before diving into high heat pursuits. Learn the HUD (next section) while traffic is still forgiving.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Wrong server endpoint - connecting to a different SBRW world or an old bookmark. Always verify RFSU / api.raceforspeedunited.fr.
- Outdated launcher - most "cannot connect" tickets are stale clients. Update before reinstalling Windows.
- Typo'd persona later - Redeem and Challenges bind gifts to the persona you select. Name carefully once.
- Different passwords on site vs game - there is only one account. If the site fails, you typed the launcher credentials wrong (or the API is briefly down - check the status widget).
- Skipping free roam orientation - learn map icons, event markers, and powerup tray before Team Escape with strangers.
RFSU notes: Race For Speed : United is a Soapbox Race World community server with a fair economy and no pay-to-win. Starter Traffic Magnet + Shield (15 each) are stocked for new drivers. One More Lap is intentionally OFF on this world. Insurance / economy numbers can be rebalanced during beta - read News before assuming yesterday's payouts still apply. Caps for Cash and SpeedBoost can go very high on RFSU V2 (up to 100,000,000 each) as server config, not as a grind target.

WHAT IT IS
The HUD is everything glued to your screen while you drive: minimap, speed cluster, nitro, heat stars, timers, position, camera, and the powerup tray. Learning it early saves races - you cannot fix a missed spike window if you never glance at the tray.
RFSU uses the classic Need for Speed World client layout. Defaults below are keyboard-oriented; rebind anything that fights you in the client options. Controllers are excellent for Circuit rhythm; many Drag specialists still prefer keyboard for shift timing.
HOW TO DO IT ON RFSU
- Minimap first. Learn your arrow, the race ribbon / checkpoints, and how cops appear when heat is active. In free roam, use the map to find event markers and Treasure Hunt zones when News says they are live.
- Speed / gear / nitro cluster. Watch nitro charge before the last Sprint sector or before a pursuit break. Empty nitro into a wall helps nobody.
- Position & timers. On Circuit and Sprint, place and sector times tell you if you are bleeding exits. On Drag, focus launch and shift cues more than the map.
- Heat stars. Climbing heat means heavier units, roadblocks, and spike pressure. Count stars before you decide to farm vs escape (see Pursuit).
- Powerup tray. Know which slot is Shield vs Magnet before the chase starts. Number keys (or your rebinds) fire slots - practice in free roam / solo AI first.
- Camera. Cycle views; look-back helps in pursuits and when judging a draft. Pick one race camera and stick with it for consistency.
- Open client bindings and set: steer, throttle, brake, handbrake, nitro, look back, camera cycle, and each powerup slot. Save the preset.
DEFAULT KEYBOARD CHEAT-SHEET (REBIND IN CLIENT)
- Arrows / WASD - steer, throttle, brake
- Nitro - commonly Left Shift (confirm in your build)
- Handbrake - tight Rockport corners, pursuit U-turns, alley snaps
- Look back / camera cycle - pursuit awareness and exit checks
- Powerup slots - number row or dedicated binds; label them mentally as Shield / Magnet / Escape tools
CONTROLLER VS KEYBOARD
- Controller - smoother analog steering for Circuit and Team Escape; map nitro and handbrake to easy bumpers; put Shield on a face button you can hit without looking.
- Keyboard - crisp Digitals for Drag launch / shift discipline; many players keep powerups on 1-5.
- Hybrid tip: whatever you choose, never leave powerups on awkward binds - Spike windows are measured in fractions of a second.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Staring at the hood and missing minimap cop flashes.
- Burning nitro at heat-up instead of saving a burst to cross a spike gap or break LOS.
- Forgetting which tray slot is Shield when you meant Magnet.
- Leaving look-back unbound - pursuit manners start with knowing who is on your bumper.
RFSU notes: HUD chrome matches the World client; server rules (powerup availability, One More Lap OFF, starter Magnet+Shield stock) do not change the layout - they change what you should equip. After rebinding, do a free-roam lap and tap every powerup once so muscle memory matches RFSU's tray.

WHAT IT IS
RFSU hosts the classic Need for Speed World event menu inside free roam and matchmaking: Sprint, Circuit, Drag, Team Escape, Pursuit / Distance, Treasure Hunt, Race Wars, and open Free Roam. Each mode trains a different skill. New drivers should rotate modes instead of only grinding one payout rumor.
Private matches are fine for practice. Weekly challenge cards usually exclude private-only farms when the card says so - read the objective text on Challenges.
HOW TO PLAY EACH MODE ON RFSU
Win: Best finish place / time on that route.
Skills: Line memory, traffic reads, nitro for the last sector, clean exits.
When (new): First night online - short Sprints teach the city without lap pressure.
Win: Highest place after the final lap / best consistent lap craft.
Skills: Exit speed, traffic on lap 2+, tire discipline, not over-nitros mid-pack.
When (new): After you know one district; Circuits punish panic more than Sprints.
Win: First to the finish on that strip.
Skills: Perfect launch, shift windows, nitro bursts, composure after a bad start.
When (new): Great when you want pure mechanical focus; use keyboard if shifts feel mushy on pad.
Win: Team success conditions (distance / timer / escape) - not "I got away alone while friends burned."
Skills: Heat sharing, not ramming teammates, callouts, Shield timing, peeling pursuers.
When (new): After you can escape solo at modest heat; then join crews and practice manners.
Win: Escape clean, meet distance/damage goals, or finish the event card without a bust.
Skills: LOS breaks, alley / elevation use, spike reads, patience.
When (new): Start heat 1-2 only; read the Pursuit section before heat-farm fantasies.
Win: Collect what the round requires before the window ends.
Skills: Map reading, route planning, not dying to random heat mid-hunt.
When (new): Perfect chill session - but check News first.
Win: Beat that rival under the agreed mode rules.
Skills: Matchup knowledge, clean racing, knowing when to decline a class mismatch.
When (new): After you have one solid car in a class; do not wager pride on a stock E vs a tuned S.
Win: Soft goal: stay online, learn roads, stage the next event.
Skills: Orientation, social sense, not launching high heat next to newbies.
When (new): Always - this is your lobby, garage door, and classroom.
HOW TO QUEUE AS A NEW PLAYER (SIMPLE LOOP)
- Enter free roam with a car you can actually control.
- Open the map / event list and pick Sprint or Circuit in a familiar district.
- Finish cleanly once. Note Cash / REP feedback without obsessing over exact numbers (they can change - see News).
- Add one Drag for mechanical practice, then a low-heat Pursuit escape drill.
- Only then join Team Escape or Race Wars - bring manners and a working microphone/chat etiquette.
- When News announces Treasure Hunt / timed zones, treat Paris time as the clock if the post says so.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Only grinding one mode because a rumor said it "prints Cash" - RFSU rebalances; skills transfer better than exploits.
- Joining Team Escape and blocking teammates for "fun."
- Ignoring class gates on challenge cards (Eâ†'S matters).
- Assuming Treasure Hunt is always up - windows can be Paris-locked on RFSU.
- Counting private-match spam toward weeklys when the card forbids it.
RFSU notes: Modes run on Race For Speed : United / Soapbox Race World with API api.raceforspeedunited.fr. No pay-to-win shortcuts into better lobbies. Treasure Hunt and special events may use Paris time when News says so - always check the post before you waste a night. Pursuit economy is intentionally fair (not a heat-farm printer); details in the Pursuit section.

WHAT IT IS
Pursuit is RFSU's cops-and-robbers layer: your Heat stars tell the world how hard the police respond. Light heat means patrols and lighter interceptors; high heat brings heavier units, roadblocks, spike strips, and less forgiveness. You either escape (break contact and clear) or get busted (pursuit failed - repairs and lost time hurt).
RFSU rebalanced pursuit economy on purpose: skillful escapes still pay, but the server is not a heat-farm Cash printer. Cost to State / cops disabled still show on your Profile rap sheet. Exact Cash and REP formulas are server-side and can change in beta - treat numbers you heard in Discord as rumors until News confirms.
HEAT LADDER (PLAIN LANGUAGE)
- Low heat (about 1-2) - learning zone. Patrol pressure, room to practice LOS breaks and alley exits.
- Mid heat (about 3-4) - roadblocks and spikes show up more. Shield timing and route planning matter.
- High heat (5+ feel) - heavy response. Only push here when you already escape mid heat calmly. Panic nitro into walls is how busts happen.
Stars on the HUD are your contract with the cops. Climb deliberately; do not "accidentally" max heat while learning.
HOW TO ESCAPE ON RFSU - LEVEL ~10 WALKTHROUGH
Use this as a practical drill once you have a controllable car and basic HUD literacy. Payouts are whatever the live server grants - focus on the escape craft.
- Build heat carefully. Tap light infractions or a short chase until you sit around low/mid heat. Do not ram every barricade on minute one.
- Pick an escape district you know. Alleys, elevation changes, multi-level ramps, and tight Palmont / Rockport cuts beat long highway heroics when spikes are live.
- Break line of sight (LOS). Put a building, crest, or hard 90 deg between you and the pack. Minimap clear != safe yet - keep moving through cover.
- Use alleys and elevation. Drop or climb so interceptors take the long way. Avoid wide open plates where helicopters / long sightlines own you.
- Shield vs spike windows. When the HUD / audio telegraphs spikes or a heavy hit window, pop Shield early enough to cover the strip - not after you are already sliding on rims. Save Magnet for traffic snaps when you need a gap, not as a panic button.
- Do not empty nitro blindly. Keep a burst to cross an intersection or finish a LOS break. Nitro into a wall resets the chase in the cops' favor.
- Wait for clear. When contact drops, keep a cool head through the cooldown. Leaving cover early because you "feel" safe is a classic re-engage. Wait until the HUD says you are actually clear.
- Reset and review. If busted, repair, note what failed (spike? bad nitro? open highway?), and retry at the same heat band until escapes feel boring - then step heat up one notch.
BUSTED COST & COST TO STATE
- Busted - pursuit lost. Expect repair bills / time loss more than a dramatic animation. It is a soft reset, not a skill badge.
- Cost to State / cops disabled - tracked on your Profile rap sheet. Aggressive driving is visible; RFSU uses that for fair progression stats, not for shaming casual racers.
- Payouts - Cash & REP for clean escapes and event pursuits are server-side. They can be rebalanced in beta. Read News for economy posts instead of memorizing spreadsheet gossip.
TEAM ESCAPE MANNERS
- Do not ram teammates to "steal" heat or block their escape line.
- Peel when you can - draw a unit so a damaged friend can hide.
- Call spikes / roadblocks if chat or voice is available.
- Finish the team objective; solo hero escapes that strand the crew are bad form on RFSU.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Treating max heat as a money printer - RFSU specifically rebalanced against that.
- Shield after spikes instead of before the window.
- Highway tunnel vision with no exit plan.
- Leaving the cooldown early and re-engaging for free.
- Inventing exact Cash-per-star formulas in chat as if they were patch notes.
RFSU notes: Pursuit exists for fair progression and fun chases, not infinite Cash. Insurance and pursuit economy can change during closed beta - subject to change; check News. Do not invent exact insurance SpeedBoost costs here. Profile shows your police record; Challenges may ask for escapes or pursuit damage - claim Cash on the site after progress syncs (see Challenges).

- Powerups - Challenges
WHAT IT IS
Powerups are the tray consumables that change a race or pursuit in a few seconds: Shield, Traffic Magnet, Run Flat, Juggernaut, Instant Cooldown, Slab, Emergency Evade, nitro discipline, and more. On RFSU they are part of fair play - earned and restocked through play and shop chargers, not a pay-to-win win button.
New starters get Traffic Magnet + Shield stocked (15 each). One More Lap is intentionally OFF on RFSU; other common powerups stay ON. Powerup Rechargers on RFSU are priced around 500 SpeedBoost for a +50 charge pack (shop / charger) - note that versus old EA retail pricing when you talk restocks with veterans.
HOW TO USE EACH COMMON POWERUP
- Nitro / NOS - raw speed. When: last Sprint sector, Drag burst, or crossing a spike gap after Shield. Not when: panic-empty into a wall at heat 5.
- Shield - soaks hits / EMP-style pressure and covers spike windows for a short time. When: just before a known spike strip, heavy ram, or roadblock punch. Starter stock: 15. Treat it as your pursuit seatbelt.
- Traffic Magnet - helps snap through congestion or tighten a pass when traffic is the real opponent. When: dense avenues mid-Sprint/Circuit or when you need a gap in free roam. Starter stock: 15.
- Run Flat Tires - keeps you rolling after spike contact. When: you already clipped spikes or expect a long strip with Shield on cooldown. Pair with escape routing, not ego.
- Juggernaut - bull through congestion and light barricades. When: Team Escape peels, pursuit pushes through light blockers, or Circuit packs that refuse to open. Do not use it as an excuse to grief humans.
- Instant Cooldown - shaves pursuit recovery when you finally hide. When: LOS is already broken and the HUD is in the escape window - not while three cruisers still have eyes on you.
- Slab - drops a hazard behind you. When: a single pursuer is glued to your bumper on a narrow road. Mind teammates in Team Escape - friendly fire manners apply.
- Emergency Evade - panic save / evade tool when a bust animation is breathing on you. When: last-chance break, not as your every corner plan.
- One More Lap - OFF on RFSU by design. Do not plan Circuit comebacks around it. Drive the laps you have.
HOW TO RESTOCK ON RFSU
- Spend powerups deliberately in MP; practice timings in free roam / solo AI first.
- When trays run low, use in-world / shop Powerup Rechargers. On RFSU expect about 500 SpeedBoost for a +50 charge pack - different from old EA sticker memories.
- Prefer earning SB through play, events, and legitimate codes before burning stacks on panic recharges.
- Keep Shield + Magnet topped if you pursue often; they are the closed-beta survival pair.
SOLO VS AI VS MULTIPLAYER
Solo vs AI powerup behavior is largely client-side on this stack - there is no separate server toggle that "makes AI fair." That means practice tools may feel different alone than in multiplayer. Multiplayer still expects fair-play. Do not treat AI quirks as a license to grief human lobbies, block Team Escape partners, or invent exploit brags.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Saving Shield "for later" and eating spikes at 0 charges.
- Expecting One More Lap to save a bad Circuit - it is OFF here.
- Comparing RFSU charger prices to decade-old EA shop posts without the ~500 SB / +50 note.
- Dumping entire trays in solo AI then wondering why MP pursuits feel harsh.
- Assuming challenge claims refill powerups or grant SB via boostReward - they do not (see Economy / Challenges).
RFSU notes: Starter Magnet + Shield = 15 each. One More Lap OFF; other powerups ON. Rechargers ~ 500 SB for +50. Solo AI = mostly client-side; MP = fair-play. No pay-to-win powerup passes. High SB caps exist as server config (up to 100,000,000) - not a reason to hoard forever instead of racing.

WHAT IT IS
The garage is where RFSU drivers buy cars, fit performance parts, dress visuals, and keep a class ladder ready for challenges. Cars span classes E â†' S. Performance parts change real handling; vinyls and kits are mostly expression (some aero choices still change feel). RFSU keeps progression fair: play for Cash, unlock by level, and skip pay-to-win shortcuts.
Addon cars exist beyond the classic World dealers. They still use Cash + level gates - not a separate premium wallet.
HOW TO DO IT ON RFSU
- Check your driver level and Cash on the in-game HUD and on Profile after sessions.
- Buy within your class needs. If a weekly challenge locks Class C Sprint, a lonely maxed S car will not help - keep a varied garage.
- Fit performance parts by priority: engine / forced induction / transmission for power delivery; suspension / brakes / tires for control. Read star ratings and variants - stars are not just cosmetics.
- Separate visual from performance in your head. Paint and vinyls rarely win races; a bad transmission will.
- Use class awareness for Challenges. Open Challenges, note required class / mode, then garage the matching car before you queue.
- Addon dealer example (illustration only): A community addon listing can use a dealer id with an unlock level and Cash price. Pattern to remember: addon dealers still gate with Cash + level, not a credit-card lane.
- Card packs / loot (when enabled) are earned by playing on RFSU, not by a premium pay shop.
PARTS STARS - PRACTICAL READING
- Higher stars usually mean stronger performance variants - still test drive; a peaky engine in a twisty Circuit can feel worse than a calmer setup.
- Fill the weak link first (brakes before another hood vinyl).
- Keep notes per class: the C-class weekly car does not need S-class money.
- Visual kits are for identity; do not confuse a widebody flex with a finished tune.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Blowing all Cash on visuals before the car can brake.
- One-car syndrome - weeklies love class variety.
- Ignoring level gates and blaming the dealer.
- Turning this guide into a shopping list - addon examples explain the pattern, not a catalog.
- Assuming SpeedBoost is required to unlock addon cars - RFSU addon example above is Cash + level.
RFSU notes: Classes Eâ†'S matter for matchmaking and challenges. Economy / insurance can be rebalanced in beta (News). Cash stacks can go very high on RFSU V2 (up to 100,000,000) as config - still buy smart. No pay-to-win dealer. Same account persona owns the garage you see on Profile's garage strip.

WHAT IT IS
RFSU uses two currencies. Mixing them up causes bad shop decisions and bad Discord advice.
HOW TO EARN EACH ON RFSU
- Cash - race and escape. Finish Sprints, Circuits, Drags, pursuits, and events. Payouts are server-side and can change; News carries rebalance notes.
- Cash - claim challenges on the site. Progress in-game, then open Challenges, sign in, and Claim. Soft rewards / Cash are the normal website claim path.
- SpeedBoost - play + promos. Earn SB through the live in-game economy and through special event promos (codes / staff drops / timed events). Check News and Redeem when a promo is announced.
- SpeedBoost - spend wisely. Example restock: Powerup Rechargers around 500 SB for a +50 charge pack. Do not empty SB on panic buys your first week.
- Track balances anytime on Profile after a session refresh.
WHAT NOT TO EXPECT FROM CHALLENGE CLAIMS
Do not teach yourself that claiming a challenge always grants SpeedBoost via core boostReward. That grant path is not implemented on RFSU's website claim flow. When you Claim on Challenges, expect the soft / Cash-style rewards the live API actually returns - not a hidden SB printer. Special event promos may still grant SB separately through codes, staff, or timed events; those are explicit promos, not the default challenge claim.
CAPS & FAIR ECONOMY
- No pay-to-win. RFSU will not sell you a winning lobby.
- High caps on RFSU V2: Cash and SpeedBoost stacks can go very high (up to 100,000,000 each) as server config, not as a personal goal or flex target.
- Insurance / economy can be rebalanced in closed beta. Exact insurance SB costs are subject to change - check News; this guide will not invent a fake sticker price.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Spending SB like Cash (or vice versa) in Discord advice.
- Refreshing Challenges ten times expecting SB from boostReward.
- Heat-farm Cash theories that ignore RFSU's pursuit rebalance.
- Hoarding toward the 100,000,000 cap instead of upgrading the car that loses every Circuit.
RFSU notes: Fair Soapbox Race World economy on api.raceforspeedunited.fr. Challenge claims != automatic SB. Promos / codes / staff / timed events may grant SB separately. Rechargers ~ 500 SB / +50. Caps up to 100,000,000 each = config. Read News before arguing yesterday's payouts.

WHAT IT IS
RFSU challenges come in two flavors drivers mix up constantly: weekly objectives (timed cards you progress in-game, then claim on the website) and achievements / trophies (career milestones that unlock on your Profile). Weeklies are the Cash / soft-reward loop. Achievements are the long career ribbon.
Progress happens in the game client. Claims happen on this site after the API syncs. Same email + password + persona as the launcher.
HOW TO DO IT ON RFSU
- Open Challenges and sign in with your launcher account.
- Read each card: mode, class (Eâ†'S), pursuit rules, private-match exclusions, and reward text.
- Play the objective in-game on Race For Speed : United until the counter moves.
- Finish events fully (DNF / disconnect often means no credit).
- Wait briefly for API sync, then refresh Challenges. When the card shows ready, hit Claim.
- Confirm Cash / soft rewards on Profile after claim.
- Treat achievements separately - they unlock for milestones and appear on Profile; they are not the same button as weekly Claim.
WEEKLY VS ACHIEVEMENTS
- Weekly / timed objectives - rotate, have rules printed on the card, claim on the site for soft rewards / Cash.
- Achievements - long-term career trophies; show on Profile; not a substitute for weekly Cash claims.
- Event promos - may grant SpeedBoost via codes / staff / timed events. That is separate from the default challenge claim path.
REWARDS - BE PRECISE
Website challenge claims credit what the live API returns - typically soft rewards / Cash. Do not expect SpeedBoost from core boostReward on claim; that path is not implemented. If a special promo grants SB, News / Redeem / staff will say so explicitly.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Claiming before finishing the event, then posting "progress broken."
- Private-match farming when the card excludes it.
- Wrong class car for a class-locked Sprint.
- Refreshing forever waiting for SB that boostReward will never send.
- Signing into Challenges with a different email than the persona that raced.
RFSU notes: Progress syncs through api.raceforspeedunited.fr. Claim on the site after ~refresh. Cash / soft rewards yes; automatic SB via boostReward no. Persona must match. Economy text on cards can change with beta rebalances - News wins arguments.

WHAT IT IS
Your Profile is the live driver card for Race For Speed : United. It pulls from the RFSU API: level, Cash, SpeedBoost, recent races, career / police record, disciplines, garage strip, powerup usage, and achievements. It is not a second account - it is the website face of the same persona you drive in the launcher.
HOW TO DO IT ON RFSU
- Open Profile and sign in with the same email + password as the launcher.
- Select / confirm the same persona you race with.
- Read the accordions / sections on the page:
- Overview - level, Cash, SpeedBoost, quick identity.
- Recent races / disciplines - what you have been queueing.
- Career / police record - Cost to State, busts, escape story.
- Garage strip - cars the API knows on this persona.
- Powerup usage - habits (are you Shield-starved?).
- Achievements - career trophies separate from weekly claims.
- After a play session, refresh Profile - stats update as you play, not always instantly mid-race.
- Use the shared session: once logged in, Challenges often needs fewer logins.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Creating a "website-only" password - there is one account.
- Looking at the wrong persona's garage after a multi-persona experiment.
- Assuming Profile is wrong before waiting a refresh after a long session.
- Ignoring the police record when pursuit challenges ask for escapes.
RFSU notes: Profile / Challenges / Redeem share launcher credentials and persona. API host: api.raceforspeedunited.fr. High Cash/SB caps (up to 100,000,000 each) may display as large numbers - that is config, not a bug. Beta rebalances can change what "good" stats look like overnight.
AFTER EVERY SESSION (QUICK RITUAL)
- Refresh Profile once you are back in free roam or logged out cleanly.
- Glance Cash / SB - did the last Circuit / escape actually pay?
- Skim police record if you were in pursuits; note busts vs escapes.
- Open Challenges in another tab if a weekly was close to done.
- If a redeem or promo landed tonight, confirm the grant before you queue again.

Redeem is how RFSU staff and events drop gifts onto your persona: Cash, SpeedBoost, cars, powerup stock, or other configured items. Codes usually look like RFSU-XXXX-XXXX (format may vary slightly by drop - type carefully). Redeem is not a public coupon site; it is a controlled faucet for community rewards and promos.
HOW TO DO IT ON RFSU
- Get a code from RFSU staff, Discord announcements (English), News posts, or a timed event.
- Open Redeem Web Deals and sign in with launcher email + password.
- Select the persona that should receive the gift - wrong persona is the #1 self-own.
- Enter the code exactly (the form helps with case). Submit once; wait for the result message.
- Check Profile / in-game inventory after a short refresh to confirm Cash, SB, car, or stock landed.
WHAT CODES CAN GRANT
- Cash stacks
- SpeedBoost (promo / staff / timed events - this is a normal SB path, unlike default challenge boostReward)
- Cars or unlock flags when the code was built for them
- Other items staff configured for that drop
ONE-USE & RULES
- Most codes are single-use per ruleset - if a friend already burned it, yours will fail.
- Some codes are persona-bound or expiry-bound. Read the event post.
- Do not share a code in public chat after you intend to use it yourself.
- Typo + spam submit can look like "broken Redeem" - slow down.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Persona mismatch (gifted the alt you never drive).
- Expired event codes after the Paris-time window closed.
- Confusing Redeem SB promos with weekly challenge claims.
- Redeeming on a different account email than the launcher.
RFSU notes: Format like RFSU-XXXX-XXXX. Same account as Profile / Challenges / launcher. Codes are a legitimate SB / Cash / car faucet when staff configure them. No pay-to-win storefront hiding behind Redeem.

WHAT IT IS
Etiquette on RFSU is how a closed-beta Soapbox Race World stays fun: no griefing, clean bug reports, patience with rebalances, and helping new drivers. Staff can mute or remove people who treat Rockport like a demolition derby against unwilling teammates.
HOW TO BE A GOOD RFSU DRIVER
- Do not grief. No intentional blocking, Team Escape sabotage, spawn camping nonsense, or exploiting bugs for advantage.
- Race clean when the lobby is racing. Bumps happen; repeated targeted wrecks do not.
- Report bugs once with: persona name, approximate time in Europe/Paris, event / mode name, short description, and a screenshot. One solid ticket beats ten identical posts.
- Expect beta rebalances. Insurance, pursuit payouts, and shop numbers can change. Read News before raging in chat.
- Help newbies. Point them at this Game Guide, starter Magnet+Shield tips, and low-heat pursuit drills.
- Follow Discord announcements in English for launches, downtimes, Treasure Hunt windows, and code drops. FR/other chat is fine socially; official announce language for ops is EN so nobody misses a wipe warning.
- Keep chat / voice calmer than a heat-5 chase. Staff can mute. Argue patches with facts from News, not insults.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- "It is just a game" while ruining Team Escape for four other humans.
- Dupe bug reports with no persona / no Paris timestamp / no screenshot.
- Threatening pay-to-win fantasies on a server built without them.
- Ignoring English announce channels then claiming nobody warned about maintenance.
RFSU notes: Closed beta means economy and pursuit fairness can shift - that is intentional stewardship, not a personal attack. No pay-to-win. Treasure Hunt / events may lock to Paris time when News says so. Be the driver you wanted when you first installed.

Short fixes for the problems RFSU drivers hit every week. Try these before assuming the server is dead. Status widget on this site talks to api.raceforspeedunited.fr.
HOW TO FIX COMMON ISSUES
- Cannot connect / cannot log into the launcher
- Verify email + password.
- Confirm the client points at Race For Speed : United / api.raceforspeedunited.fr - wrong endpoint is the classic "game broken" report.
- Update the SBRW Launcher from soapboxrace.world.
- Check the server status widget and News for downtime.
- Wrong endpoint / connecting to the wrong world
- Re-select RFSU explicitly. Clear old shortcuts that still aim at another SBRW host.
- Do not mix random "World fix" packs with the RFSU layout.
- Persona typo / gift went missing
- Redeem and Challenges bind to the persona you select. Open Profile, confirm spelling, redeem again only if the code still allows it.
- Disconnected mid-race
- Rejoin free roam. Unfinished events may not credit Cash / challenge progress.
- Prefer stable Ethernet for pursuits. Then re-run the objective cleanly.
- Site Profile / Challenges / Redeem login fails
- Use the exact launcher email + password. There is no separate website account.
- If the API status is down, wait and retry - do not reset passwords in a panic loop.
- Stuck challenge claim / progress not showing
- Finish the event fully, wait a minute, hard-refresh Challenges.
- Confirm class / mode / private-match rules on the card.
- Remember: claims grant soft rewards / Cash - not automatic SB via boostReward.
- Powerups feel weird in solo AI but fine / different in MP
- Solo vs AI powerups are largely client-side; there is no special server fairness toggle for AI.
- Multiplayer still requires fair-play. Practice timings alone; judge etiquette in human lobbies.
- One More Lap is OFF on RFSU everywhere - not a solo bug.
- Redeem says invalid
- Check typos, expiry, one-use rules, and persona selection.
- API / "Checking RFSU API..." stuck on the site
- Temporary tunnel or API blip. Retry later; confirm you can still reach api.raceforspeedunited.fr from status.
- Graphics crashes
- Update GPU drivers, verify files via the launcher, lower settings on older hardware.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR / MISTAKES
- Reinstalling Windows before checking the endpoint.
- Posting "challenges stolen my SB" when boostReward was never part of the claim path.
- Reporting the same disconnect five times without persona + Paris time + screenshot.
RFSU notes: Still stuck? Ask in community channels with persona name and approximate time (Paris time). Read News for known issues. English Discord announcements carry maintenance and endpoint changes.
